so how did halloween 2008 go?
Halloween 2008 was the first time Mr. M or myself had handed out candy since… well, neither of us could really remember! I’m going to say the last occasion for me was my 2nd year of dorm life, when we’d have Halloween on Wednesday and thousands of elementary school kids would come visit us on the hill. No one really came trick or treating to the sorority houses… nor to the apartments around town. So we had fun giving handfuls of candy to the rain-soaked kids that came by, and Mr. M got tons of compliments on the awesome show he put on with our Hallowindow!
Here’s the boring setup of the actual show… an IKEA white sheet held up with painter’s tape for a screen… and speakers out the side window. With the projector flipped in reverse, we couldn’t see the show or read the words, but everyone outside could!
Now the pumpkins are rotting away in the garbage can… the ants are feasting on them… and the sun is coming out for the first time since Friday. And I think we’re a bit more prepared for our next house-Halloween as grown-ups.

That Hallowindow is so cool! We live in a city apartment building, but we could actually do this even without trick-or-treaters! I’m saving this for next year :)
