square scoops
I have a feeling that anyone who grew up on a steady diet of Thrifty ice cream will fall in love with this amazing ice cream scoop as quickly as I am! In fact, I just passed up buying some ice cream cones the other day due to my ineptitude at packing the small little cones.
Thrifty used a square ice cream scoop which made scooping more efficient than any normal scoop. Push it in… push it out! And it was the only place I could get a double cone in 100 degree heat with no worries about loosing that top flavor. Plus… grandpa never worried about indulging me in a steady diet of strawberry ice cream… and there was always a Thrifty nearby!

I’ll never forget going to get ice cream with Granpda at Thrifty! I think about it every time we go by a Rite Aid.

OMG Kim! We always went to Thrifty for ice cream and loved the square scoops. I want some chocolate malted crunch right now.

I REMEMBER THIS. WOW! I remember the square scoops being HUGE, although I was also very pint-sized so it might have just been a generous tot-to-scoop ratio :)
