mad men with vodka – Sterling Cooper Vodka Collins
I’m definitely one of those people who have enjoyed the “throwback” references that have infused modern living due to the wildly popular AMC series Mad Men. From the collection of clothes from Banana Republic, to the throwback hairstyle tutorials posted all over the web… it’s fun to see that classy era return with such open arms.
So when I saw this vodka collins cocktail recipe, inspired by the show and an homage to cocktails of the past, I decided to jump on the Mad Men bandwagon and give it a try.
Sterling Cooper Vodka Collins
By Nicolas O’Conner at Apoteke in NYC
4oz. Tonic Water
.5oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
.5oz. Fresh Lime Juice
.5oz. simple syrup
3 Maraschino Cherries
Place all ingredients except the tonic water and one cherry into a shaker glass with ice. Make sure to shake vigorously as the ice will muddle the cherries. Then pour all ingredients into a high ball glass, top with tonic water and garnish with the remaining cherry.
And you know what? I think I’ll be mixing up all of my future vodka tonics this way! I’m sure that the Kanon vodka was a perfect choice to pick up and enhance the citrus flavors, but overall this was just a really pleasant drink to enjoy in any situation. So if you’re looking for a perfectly spring-y cocktail for your Easter brunch table or just a new staple for a weeknight in, I think this drink might really suit you!

This sounds delicious and the drink is beautiful! I love the Mad Men clothing at Banana too – I wish the betty dress came in more colors, it is such a cute silhouette.
