tutorial: easy to make baby legs (from socks)
.
Sure it may be way past stocking-season… but I felt like I had to find someplace to hang the newest socks in the house. What are they?? Why they’re baby legs/leggings of course! In stores they sell them for $12+ … and are the perfect little addition to onesies that keep babies warm where you don’t need clumsy pants for diaper changes. At home, you can make them from normal crew/knee-high socks and some thread for around $1-$2/pair! I made these three pairs from non-sale socks at Target for $6 and about 25 minutes of my time from start to finish.

.
So how exactly do you make baby legs? Well… there are lots of tutorials out on the web, but I figured I’d add to the madness and post a video that really shows what is going on rather than just a series of photos. :) Watch below and you’ll see just how easy it is!

Great tutorial :) I particulalry like how you flung the parts of the socks when you didn’t need them ;)
Hmm…I now may have another sewing project to add to my To Dos!

Holy Moly-those are SO cool! My BFF is addicted to baby legs for her baby, and I SO need to learn how to use my sewing machine so I can make these for her STAT! (until then, it’s Circo Baby Legs from Target for $3!)

Baby Legs? WHO KNEW?
(I don’t have kids, so I don’t know about these things. Obviously.)
See, this is why I need to learn to sew. And maybe by the time I have babies, I will.

Nice tutorial! They look so cute. But I would only put them on a girl. :) Maybe something to consider with this baby. If only I could sew! :)

That’s awesome! I was so addicted to Baby Legs. Now Henry wears his as arm warmers, so he can still wear his short-sleeved shirts when it’s a little cold. (And I can still look at the cute Baby Legs!) I loved all the stripey patterns the best, but the menfolk around here seemed to prefer his flame ones. LOL

Well, thank you very much. On top of finishing the nursery, organizing my house, and all that general stuff to get ready for this baby in 6 weeks, I now have amazingly cute baby legs to sew up.
(Seriously though, thanks for the tutorial – I love a good video tute over a photo tute anyday!)
