Saving 85% on a craft desk…
I wanted this. Pottery Barn’s Bedford Project Table retailing for $1099. But that seems like an insane amount of money to spend on a craft desk, when we’ve got 2800 sq feet that needs functional furniture as well. So… yeah. Time to be inventive!
Now I just need to paint the backs of the bookcases white (instead of keeping them their beautiful cardboard color) and cut some wood to use for braces… and TADA!
Total estimated cost of the project: $165 — 85% under the list price of above desk.
And the results?? Well… just click here to find out and see the desk for yourself!

I love your desk idea! Now that you’ve had it over a year, how do you like it? How’s that glass top? I would *love* a glass top, but the Ikea website scares me with that whole “glass breaking” tip. Did you support the glass with a frame or something? Thanks in advance for your answers … from me and my DH who will be putting this together for me!
