last minute tips from the Test Kitchen

As I drove into work this morning, I got to hear the folks on Morning Edition chat about perfecting Thanksgiving staples… and let us just say that my stomach is rolling with hunger from the story!

There were some great tips though… like using vodka to help make a perfectly firm and crumbly pie crust, as well as a recipe for the perfect “cheese ball” (Let it be known that the cheese ball is a holiday staple in my grandmother’s kitchen) and a roasted pear salad.

So just in case you’re scrounging the Internet for some last minute tips, these might come in handy now… or later next month… or even next year.
