march 2009 habit: be healthier

So here’s the goal I’ve set for march 2009: be healthier.

In order to be healthier, I will do the following things:

1) track my food/excercise daily
2) commit to 30-min cardio at least 3 times a week
3) begin & end my day with yoga
4) consume at least 48 oz plain water a day

I think there are lots of things that we can each do to be healthier, and this list is just the few I’d like to make strict habits within my life. It’s not the hardest list of things to accomplish, but the promise of sticking to them will be a challenge.

    What a great idea to use your readers for accountability. There are lots of things I’d like to do to be healthier, but none for which I am willing to commit, as I lie here on the couch with a 103 fever (somehow, the thought of committing to the gym just makes me feel even more exhausted).

    So, I’ll pledge to drink 64 oz of water per day. I should be doing that with a fever, anyway! And, taking my calcium pills twice a day instead of being lazy and taking both at night — you absorb more calcium if you split them up and take one in the AM and one in the PM, and 30 will be here in just a few more years (okay, 4) so I should try to build up that bone density while I still can.

    i’m going to shoot for 40 oz of water a day, which is a lot more than i usually get. i’m like a camel though i’m sure my body would disagree. good luck!
