#reverb10 – day 27

December 27 – Ordinary Joy

Our most profound joy is often experienced during ordinary moments.
What was one of your most joyful ordinary moments this year?

(Author: Brené Brown)

It was last month, and Mr. M and I were home from work early, so we both went to pick up Baby M from daycare together. Mr. M usually has drop-off duty, and I pick up, so it was a complete shock and surprise to her!

She saw me first, and lit up like normal… but then saw Mr. M and her eyes got even wider. She started squealing and clapping and looking around at the other babies in the room as if to say, “Do you see this!??!” It was a normal moment but it was extra special, and it was one of the first times where we both realized (together) how much she recognizes and loves each of us. I mean, there are tons of moments like this every day, but this one was just a serious moment of extra special joy.
